Collins COBUILD Advanced App Reviews

I am from Recife in Brazil South America, and I dont want to do this,I dont do reviews, but this dictionary is so wonderful, i felt like it needed one... So basically, I would like to say that,this is the best dictionary in the world for Brazilians that are trying to learn English.Mainly because when it describes a word? It describes it in context for the word, in a phrase or something... So,you already know from the definition how to use it, and the purpose that the word in the English language and grammar has in the phrase. Its simply the best.The only problem is that its its very limited in the the number of words it has, it has only a few, not a lot of words... I wish it had as many as its textbook has, and you could buy that app with that many words in it.

It has a lot of good sample sentences which is really good; however, the pronunciation of words are all robotic. They are horrible.

Very disappointed that the "audio" function reads only headwords and not any of the examples which constitute the overwhelming bulk of the book. Go and buy yourself the Oxford Advanced English Learners Apps instead: that one reads 95% of the examples out loud to you which is a lot!

Have been waiting for a major update for a long time. Needs more functions. Will give 5 stars when a major update comes. Please update: 1. Optimized for iOS 9 2. Optimized for 3D Touch 3. Better search function 4. Jump function 5. iCloud bookmark 6. Optimized for retina 7. Search from another app 8. Better pronunciation 9. Thesaurus feature Please!

The UK pronunciation of "plural" is broken. I hope this app will be better and better, and be the best English-English dictionary app!

Good for English learners, but more words needed for the advanced level.

I can totally not understand how the developper of this App decided to eliminate British pronunciation from the dictionary that has been developped in Britain and written in authentic British English. Covering both British and American pronunciation and spelling is one of the biggest value of this dictionary. On top of that, eliminating any contents from the original dictionary is completely irrational. This is absolutely unacceptable update. If you would like to specifically focus on American English, this publisher has an American English dictionary as a separate edition.

I cannot look up any phrasal verbs for take. Please add them to this great dictionary. ブリティッシュ 英語の発音がなくなったのは残念ですが、 素晴らしい機能を備えた辞書アプリだと思います。 出来れば、 持っているすべてのデバイス間で、 ヒストリーが同期されれば最高ですね。

The content of this dictionary is really great, amazing for English learners. But I am reviewing the user experience of this app. 1) It is uneasy to look up verb phrase like "look after" in it. Enter the word look and its really hard to find the phrase look after. So I suggest to add search in page here. 2) Screen orientation lock is really necessary for me when Im reading books on bed and using this dictionary. Add the two features it will be perfect for me and Ill give it 5-star. Thanks.

PLS REMOVE THE "SHOPPING CART" ICON! AFTER I PAID $25 I STILL HAVE TO WATCH YOUR SUCKING ADS TIME TO TIME???

it was good, but dont waste your money now.

The app is good for english learners. However, no sound is played when I try to listen to a word pronunciation. Before every update, I expect the problem would be resolved, but not as yet. Plz fix it.

while Id like to give a five-star to the contents, its too expensive, so I minus one from the full score.

But it is a little unconfortable to move the right page(i use it on i-pad) only by touching....well i want it to be fixed. Thats all.

Handy dictionary to use anywhere without those weight and volume, And also cheaper!!! Yae~!

결론은 가격은 좀 비싸지만 사길 잘했음 전에사용하던 네이버 영영사전이랑 비교하면 - 인터넷 접속 필요없이 단어찾는 속도도 훨빠름 - 내용은 동일 - 히스토리 기능으로 찾아본 단어는 자동 저장됨 --- It was a good decision to buy it though its high price. Compare it with a collins dic, on web. - No internet connection, very fast searching - It is collins dic. - Every words once you searched are automatically saved in history.

Easy to understand definitions, a lot of example sentences. Clear audio. Good for ESL students and up to high school.

NO UPDATE FOR IPHONE 5!!!!

I hope it will be version 4.0. But theres no update.. orz.

this app is very simplicity and efficiency. it is very fast and stable. worth the money.
